totally agree with you. i was emt for a while and saw some bad stuff. brother in law is a firefighter and my sis is a paramedic. im not saying im smart. its always more of a "in the moment deal"

I knew this thread was going to turn this way. I ran it out to 180 on Saturday but that's at three in the morning. Not another soul for miles and miles. I don't see a problem with running it out like that, there is a time and a place for it. You wanna go out in a ball of flames then go for it. Just don't take anyone with you.

Took me the better part of a year to find someone who could do it and he knows he's the only game in town so he charges accordingly (we just offer the service, don't make money off of it, just send you to him through us so we can sell more overlays)...

Ive been 175, the windows start sucking out at them speeds in a T-top can, and ive been 190 in an 06 GTO its a killer rush but its not even enjoyable because your so scraed that something will happen,I have also been the first responder on scene for bad wreck at high speeds,I rolled up on one at 2AM a few years back on a 2 lane road, It was 4 friend in a 35th LE SS, crossed the line and hit a 300C head on,everyone died but the driver of the SS, the youngest was 14 and the oldest was 35! 6 people died they tried to charge him with 6 counts Vehicular mans laughter but he never stood trial hes paralyzed from the next down!

I tried to do it with a C5 overlay 200mph but need to recalibrate. Since I really don't go over 100 often on the roads, I said the heck with it.
On the speeding thing...I've done the 160mph on a hwy at 3 am on 4 lane hwy. ONCE...and yeah the windows want to pull out. Best thing was doing the standing mile. Thing was, there was a cross wind in the middle of the runway. Talk about checking your pants, car started to feel loose at 160+ if I recall GPS said 168 but couldn't keep my foot in it. On another note, in 89 or 90 I know of a ZR1 cutting a car in HALF. I remember the news pictures. 4 kids died...

I think we've all had our times going stupid fast on the roads. There's just gotta be a time to grow up and quit it or take it to a track.
I've gone 155mph in my old 94 Mustang GT MANY years ago. Wasn't a straight road and a couple friends blocked it off for me. Done 110 in my 02 V6 Bird on the straightest piece of road I've ever seen. And that was just because I was gonne get an oil change the next day. Figured I'd wind er up high before dumping the sludge! lol
And I can't wait to be able to get a 200mph cluster in my Trans Am! If I do all the work in go-fast mods I wanna do, I'll need that cluster for the track!

yeah, there is a time to grow up and I did when i had my first child, now i have 2 beautiful kids and a gorgeous wife that i need to live for, now all my racing is done at the track wheather its a 1/4 or 1 mile! I havent been down that road where my friends died since it happened! that was the hardest thing i had to do in my life was to try and keep it together on the scene of the crash, it was even harder whn the familys showed up,i went to school with 2 of the kids in the SS that died!

i hit 159 n then put it in 6th and cruised haha made it home so fast n then hit 172 on my bike... i wont be doin that again cuz i hit a lil bump n got air but ya thats fast... i do wanna hit 200 tho
