I've been keeping up with this thread for a while now and it seems like these switchbacks just don't seem to work properly.

I also just replaced my DRL housings and sockets with new Amber 3157 incandescent bulb in there (temporarily). I really don't want these crappy stock bulbs burning out my sockets again so I want to stuff LEDs in there quick.

I'm now thinking of just putting white LED's in there. Would these 3157 18-LED Tower bulbs work ok? They're $17.95 each, so not as expensive as switchbacks.

Don't include me on the problem list. Re-read my post and you'll see that I haven't had any issues so far with the LED's from VLEDs.com.

Yes, and if you read, you would have seen those who had problems were using the 60 led towers, not the 48s. Skytower is on 48's now and they work fine as well

I have the 48's with LED protectors for cheap insurance and no issues here so far. 60's blew out within a day.

LED protectors? What's that?

BTW, did you buy your 48's from autoillumination too?

Its something they sell (autolumination) that simply taps into the factory wiring for the front corner lamp. They are like $2 a pop so I figured why not and they take a minute to install. My guess is its just a resistor and yes I bought my 48s from autolumination too. The 60s were the only item I've ever gotten from them that I've been disatisfied with.

All I asked was for updates which this thread has been dead for about a week. No one else had said if they were having problems or not. It seems like since I asked this question atleast we are getting some answers. Thanks for that.

Oh sorry guys. I have had my 48's running now fine for weeks. I don't know when my last post was, but no issue since then other than the bulb falling out of a burnt socket. I got my 48's form auto illum.. Maybe I just got lucky. Don't know.
