Default Found some cheap fog replacements for Camaro guys.

I was searching some threads for some aftermarket potential for our camaros. Based on this thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...my-z-pics.html

Well i found on Amazon these http://www.amazon.com/Hella-H7101029...9611249&sr=8-6. They have bit smaller diameter but the width and height are pretty much the same and they cost 1/4 the price of the hella micro de and not to mention have better ratings.

Do you have them on your car? I'm curious how well they'll bolt up to our brackets.

no i don't have them, but i was thinking of either buying them or putting hid lights in the factory fogs. Decisions Decisions. I bring the car out of storage April 1st and have a list of things to fix but i want my lighting and ttop thing to be fixed pronto.

Sparky, I know we both have the same headlight setup, sonars, hid. My weatherstripping on one light is completly detached? anyway to fix it? Which glue would you use?

You and me both, I haven't decided whether to replace the stockers with something entirely different or put HID in them.

Not sure about the weatherstripping. Mine is still all attached, but the rubber is cracking in some places. But I suspect that is partly because the bumper is pushed up against them so hard that it is pinching the rubber.

BTW, just FYI to anyone, Autozone carries those Hella Optilux fogs under the name Blazer, slightly more than at Amazon but more convenient to get. I'm tempted to pick up a set and give them a shot.

For anyone interested at all, I just placed an order for these. The pigtail on my passenger side fog is corroded and the bulb on the driver side burned out, so I basically don't have fogs anymore Figured heck I'll give these a shot and see how good (or bad) they are.

However, I have NO idea when I'll get around to installing them. It may be a while...

those lights look really cheap honestly. i spent the extra money on the hella micro de fogs, and i couldnt be happier. they even bolted right up to the factory bracket. i just had to barely bend on side of the bracket and they fit beautifully. ill look and see if i have any pics of them mounted up... and i know i have a few pics of just the fogs on and HID lights in them. def worth the money IMHO....

I was wary of the micro DE because of the cost and reports of them corroding badly internally. If these suck, well, they were only $34 so not much lost. But the micro DEs are twice as much so if they corroded on me (which in Ohio is much more likely than Texas) then I'd be out a lot more.

Besides, if no one tried them, we won't know how badly they suck

Well Z28LS1camaroguy was right, those fogs suck

I would have thought they might be a little brighter, given they are 55W vs 37W but nope they aren't. Not sure why, but the light output is definitely less. The cutoff is decent enough, I suppose, but that's it. No room in there for an HID bulb. Oh, and it took some severe mutilation of the stock fog bracket to get it to mount.

So no go. I need a new pigtail for my passenger side fog, and a new set of stock fogs for my car. Now to decide whether I want to go HID in them or not, and if so, what color temp. 3000k for the usability factor, or 5000k to match my headlights. Hmm...

Im telling ya the DE's are sealed up pretty well. maybe you can RTV around all of the seals again just to make sure no moisture gets inside... they are definitely worth the money

I'm tempted to, given they aren't that much more than stock pair. EXCEPT I need a new driver side fog light bracket now that I chopped up mine to fit those other fogs in there. And I'm not finding just that bracket.
