is that a serious question? ive burnt the **** out of my hand being an idiot and touching someones exhaust tips after they drove around for an hour.
regardless i dont think it was heat that ruined my exhaust when i painted it. i used high temp paint and daily drove it through rain and salted roads. daily driving and painted exhaust dont mix.

Why would the intake be as hot or hotter than the exhaust?? The air coming in the intake is still fresh isnt it? The intake has air in it and the exhaust has burnt gases passing through it so i would assume the intake is a little warm at most...i have touched my intake when the car is running and it doesnt burn my hand...Exhaust is completely opposite lol. And i did the same thing to my exhaust i painted it with high heat Wheel paint i had left over and it lasted about 2 weeks then the paint started to come off

Then it was not painted right. I painted my true duals black. Sanded, cleaned with alcohol, no primer then several coats of high temp black paint. Around 4 coats on the bends since they get the hottest. The first bend after the header has started to peel"4 years later" should have put about 10 coats up there I guess.
