Nick I won't have pricing on the 4" WS6 hood for a few weeks, and as far as the SS hood(s) go it will be a while. We do have a 98Z for prototyping purposes but we do have to discuss the fact that a 4" SS hood will need a custom grill insert.

Cool. I'm in no hurry...still have to save up for the cam and intake first
Just want an approximation so I can start saving funds. I can wait a few weeks for an app. price.
I just hope that it's no where NEAR $1,100!
Thanks
Nick

I talked to VFN and we are hoping to have the first 4" WS6 hood on my car early next week, in time to get the car to the Southern Shootout next weekend.

VFN has been reading the thread and at this point will try to make a 4" SS hood both both for LS1's and LT1's... Will need time to design it.

I can say that pricing for either will not break the bank at all and we will possibly organize a onetime price break for LS1Tech members.

As far as the SS hood goes, I'm down if two things happen.
1) It clears the manifold I have in mind.
2) There is a significant weight savings. If you posted this already, I'll find it.
If not what is the savings?

I have not posted weight savings on an SS hood, but we did weigh the stock 02 SS hood I have (the crashed one) and it was over 50 lbs!!!

I'm thinking 25lbs for a bolton hood is a good goal, and 15-ish for a pinon.

As far as intake clearance goes most of us won't have problems unless you plan to run Hillbourn fuel injection off a old school dragster.

Sounds good....December is a bit of a bummer but I guess I could wait. Might just have the current hood put on and painted and then get this hood in December

Remember, 2 of the cylinders are not visible from birds-eye-view, meaning the manifold can't be more then about 2"(guessing) taller then it currently is.

If the ZL1 4" SS hood makes it around pretty much any time december ( later would be good for me ) then im about 80% sure i could go ahead and place an order for one ( depending one price ) that would be kick ***...

Go ahead and put me on the mailing list with the others for a 4" ZL-1 hood, if we get a large group of people to purchase at one time, we should be able to get them pretty damn cheap, ecspecially since when everybody see's them on our car's, they'll want one too, i know, that with me being in the Detroit are, there would be a large following, that would be interested in the purchase, after they see my hood, as long as there doesn't require alot of bodywork($) to get them to look good, i heard of a guy in the area here that spent as much on bodywork as he did on the hood.

Thanks
Jason

December or later would be no problem for me with the hood, I guess add me to the mailing list

Derek, 4" SS hood would be going on a local 98Z for adjustments, so I guess #2 is workable.

I'll post up pricing at the beginning of next week and some specific timelines.

More shots of the 4" ZL1 hood would be cool if someone has any...
