Thanks. I've been working on it for a bit this evening. Got it down in there but don't have a torque wrench to torque it down. But I'm going to take some pics in a bit and post them in about an hour or so.

OK. Here's the pics. It's pretty dirty in there. What is everyone doing with their EGR wires after !EGR?

Looks good, but now that I look at your engine bay, I'm surprised you didn't paint the intake red. Any particular reason for the silver?

Yeah. I'm going to do a set of custom FRC's that will be red with a little silver. I have big plans for the FRC's that I think are going to make them pretty unique. So when I was trying to come up with a color scheme, I decided that red FRC's and a silver intake would look better than vice versa. I guess now you'll have to stick around to see the FRC's too.

Hopefully I'll be able to get some FRC's next week and get started on them and get my TB polished. Anybody ready to chime in on a good way to take care of the EGR wires now that my EGR is gone?

I ordered some FRC's yesterday so hopefully they will be here in a reasonable amount of time to get them finished. Here's a really bad picture that I did in the "paint" program so you get an idea of where I'm headed. The FRC will be red (same color as my car) with the silver metallic stripes shown in the pic. The stripes will be about where the Corvette logo is (I'm going to fill it of course). The TA logo will be the same color red even though it isn't in the pic. The checkered design you see will be a "ghost" checkered flag so you will only see at certain angles and light. What do you guys think?

Thanks. I'm still trying to think up an easy way to tape off the TA logo when I paint the silver. I could just use some vinyl letters but really would rather have it painted. I may end up using that transfer paper stuff and just cut out the outline of the letters with a razor blade.

looks good.

first paint it silver, then lay down some vinyl, then paint the red, then remove the vinyl. thats a real common way of doing it.

That's pretty well what I was going to do except I was going to paint the entire frc red first, then put the silver over the top. Think it will make much difference in that order?

yes, paint it all red first. it would be easiest if you bought a set of the vinyl door overlays. they fit perfectly on there (thats what i and lots of others have used)

-once its all red, just add the overlays, and tape off the sripes for the silver.
-paint the silver.
-remove the decals and your tape and your design should be all done.
-clear coat the whole thing

I may give that a shot. I'll have to look and see what they cost since I haven't bought any in about 8 yrs.
