Default A little help with scraping ..

Okay guys, I didn't know where exactly to post this but thought I would try here first. I have a 99 T/A lowered with the Koni/strano setup. I love the height and look but my driveway slopes down just a little bit where it meets the street and it goes down hill from there. My front bumper is always scraping! So heres what I was thinking or maybe looking for. Unless anyone else thinks of something for this problem .. Like a rubber something down there that flows with the bottom of the bumper and thats what will scrap instead of grinding my bumper down. I am about to get my front bumper repainted and I definatley want to do something about this after I do it. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great !!

Thanks

- Charlie

You can get a splitter from 6LEs.

The thing is I do use the "angle" technique and it still scrapes!

I am not a big fan of splitters on our cars but might check it out. But then the splitter will be lower than the bumper and still scrape the heck out of that more.

Thanks for the replys guys im up to hear any suggestions!

That's the point, it'll rash up your splitter and not your bumper.

You might be too late to get a splitter from 6LE...

I was thinking about getting rubber circles .. maybe like ones you put on the bottom of things so it doesnt slide/scratch w/e and run them across the front bumper ... just an idea ..

Would be hard to get them to stay on just by adhesive. A driveway will rip them off unless you mount them with a bolt.

And then with rubber it would grab the concrete and still tear them off, possibly ripping a hole in the bumper. Not a good idea to bolt rubber to the bumper..

Get some gravel hard pack and fill in the low part in your driveway where it meets the street. Prob won't look too pretty, but it works. I have a rock driveway, so I laid down hard pack with some rocks over it. Worked mint.

Man .. that didn't even cross my mind. I just imagined it scraping ... thanks for the imput guys. I really didnt want to mess with my driveway. I will keep the thoughts in mind though as I keep looking at possible solutions.

Thanks

Good point. Wasn't necessarily saying it was a good idea, just saying that's the only way they'd have a chance at staying on. But "feet" like he's talking about probably wouldn't grab concrete like a tire, most are more plastic like. This option would look like hell though and probably work just as good.

OP just try maybe tracking down some kind of thick lexan and mount it with a strong mounting tape. Would be similar to what a splitter would do just not have the look. If you don't wanna mess with your drive and can't pull in at an angle, about all you can do is throw something plastic like under your bumper to take the hit instead.
