Default black out my 98 z?

I need opinions and possibly pictures if anyone has done this. I had a little accident a few weeks back and im finally getting around to fixing up the car. Im ordering a 3 inch cowl hood from summit racing mag the Harwood hood. I have a black car and i've always like the blacked out look. I gotta get a new headlight and i found a set of black head lights on ebay (they have a veryBMWish look to them) im having troubles posting links today for some reason but if you go to ebay and do a search for98-02 camaro headlights i believe they are the only set that pop up. my other question is has anyone powdercoated their factory wheels before? for some reason im not into the bling of wheels myself. i like plain, simple and smaller wheels. do you gusy think id be doing myself wrong by having them powder coated black? i dont want a polished lip, i had a set of zr-1's on my car that were black for about aw eek before i sold back to the friend i got them from cause i wasn't so hot on the polished lip.

what do you guys think so i do this? i dont want to change the appearance too drastically, but i do definately wanna look into the black out look. anyone tried it and have success?
thanx
Travis

It sounds like you are talking about "Halo" headlights.
Here are some links on the subject:

I like the "blacked-out" look, but I think I would keep chrome/satin/polished wheels instead of them being black as well. Although, blacked out wheels with a dull finish would give a stealthy/undercover look. Someone on here has a blacked out camaro with a zenon body kit, but I cant seem to find pictures right now. Maybe he/she will chime in.

i was actually thinking if i could find a place that powder coated ina gun metal kind of finish, because im starting to think black wheels would be a bit much. I just like the factory 5 spoke wheels. I guess if i could find a set of 16X8 chrome wheels id do that, but would it go with the black out look? im not a big fan of body kits myself but ill do another search she what i can find.

I have a few more mods going on in the spring time so im looking to make the car look as "steathly" as possible. I'm not going for anything extreme just around 330-345 rwhp and a 75 shot of nitrous. but i want the car to be as decieving as possible.
thanks for the reply

(I know you weren't interested in a body kit, but I thought that I'd supply some pictures in case you hadn't seen it.)

There is a guy on here with a blacked-out T/A with chrome wheels. I know its not a Camaro, but it'll let you know what it would look like. I think I have a link to his site on my pc at home. I'll try to find it later. The wheels were 2000 Corvette wheels.

The blacked out look is cool, especially on black camaro's. Cleans up the car, but its not too over-the-top.

But i wouldnt go w/ black rims personally. I'd keep it like VIP1 said, a satin or just non-polished/billet/aluminum-like look. Just too much black if you have all around blackouts, and black wheels on a black car, imo. Need something to break up it up.

yeah i finally found a pic of all black rims. i think id run into the same problem i had with the black zr-1's with the polished lip...just a bit tooo much for my tastes.

i gotta question about the black out tail shades. when they are on, during the day you people see my brake lights? or is it one of those mods you do for shows when the car will be parked?
thanks again

I have blackouts on my car. The lights are still visible during the day, just not as bright. They are available at AutoZone for $40. You can give them a shot and return them if you dont like them.
