Thankx guys. I'm extremely happy with the final product. Especially how well the glue is holding in that tight curve by the armrest area. This glue has a nice spray pattern as well. It doesnt "mist" on like a spray. Its got a neat little tip that spreads the glue in a lace like pattern. Pretty cool. And its ready to work with in 5 minutes of application & fully cured in 24hrs I believe.

I took my finger & ran it over a edge to see if the glue was holding good & it literally felt like the edge of the leather was cemented on the plastic. It didnt even try to roll the edge of the material at all.

I applied the glue to the leather & the door panel. The leather in Steves kit is great. Its nice & soft. The cloth backing to it really seemed to like this glue too. Once it started getting really tacky on me it requires a little force to pull it up if you need to adjust but stuck right back down like it was never pulled up in that spot.

I'll have at least (1) of my trunk panels done this weekend, maybe both if I can get time. I do have a question though, what do I need to use to get that damn hatch trim off. I dont want to damage the plastic pryin on it with a flathead.

They are held in place by plastic clips. When I tried taking them from my 99 about a year and a half ago they were seriously a PITA thanks to those little push clips. Might be a good idea to go get some extras from auto zone or something just in case one breaks.

The panel nearest to the rear was held in by about 6 of them and the upper panels have metal clips on towers that clip into the hatch. these are easier to get loose but they are hard to get back into place without bending the clip towers.

I had to be careful and work from an edge and get it loose then slowly work that down. Worst panels to remove IMO.

It looks good and hope it stays that way overtime in the heat but im going to have to agree with spray adhesives. I did my challenger with the dap and a spray adhesive, after a week in summer heat the only thing that is holding up is whats done with the dap weldwood contact cement I have some pieces thats going on over a year and still stuck on like I first did it. Its a longer process with brushing it on but its worth it in the end.

Mike, your door panel looks really good for your first time trying to work the leather. If your having trouble getting panels off in the rear of the car (hatch). You will want to purchase a set of NYLON door panel removal tools. You can usually get a nice set from ebay for about $10. The reason you want the NYLON tools is it won't harm the paint or plastic. Another trick to use on the plastic christmas trees that hold panels in play is to apply a small amount of white lithium to the plastic tree. It will make removal of the panel so much easier and it lubricates the slip hole so the plastic tree will reinsert without breaking. Most of the older plastic trees at this point are very old in our cars and tend to break easy. Good job on the work so far! Now get back in the garage and finish the rest of the interior

LOL, garage. I only wish I had a garage to work in. I wrapped this out on the trampoline homie, LOL. No shade but plenty of surface space to work on. I'll pick up some of those panel removers for sure. I got a feeling those panels wont go back in until paint though so my hatch can be painted correctly.

Man I havent got much more finished, my aunt just passed yesterday from cancer so there has been alot goin on lately. But I'm gonna get more done soon, I'm so tired of my interior in pieces.

I got the leather from Specialized Stainless & used my own glue I bought from a local upholstery shop. I pulled the panel out of the closet to check it the other day & nothing has come loose yet, so the glue appears to be holding perfect. The true test will be letting it sit in my car in the summer heat for 8hrs while i'm at work.
