Thinking about changing up a few things

not different terms, different usage. satin describes the paint, "trim" is what the paint is used for. most of the paint companies have a specific paint marketed to use for the trim and stuff, such as: http://www.autobarn.net/duptp70.html
the trim paints are made to repaint the trim parts of the car, the moldings, etc (pretty much any of the random black stuff around cars). not really intended to be used on the body panels.
i would assume trim paint would be somewhere between flat at satin. without seeing it in person its hard to tell, pictures dont exactly show what it looks like in person.
general use paints/auto paints will be flat/satin/gloss. for the look in the picture, and what will look best in person, IMO, i think you should go with satin.

yeah i vote satin.
RE the inserts, if you do go with the acrylic from emblempros i think it will match up better than the rk sports (as unnoticable as the difference is)
