shaded trans am tailights??
got homw from kuwait finally, went and picked my car up in florida, got it all the way home and noticed that one taillight is shaded and the other is not. what the hell is up with that?? went to work at the GM dealer where i work, looked it up and it only lists one taillight for 98-02. does someone sell them aftermarket or did GM just make a goofy batch of replacement ones? help me out here guys!! it looks funny! thanks, Jess

Never heard or seen of this, can you post up some pics maybe? Did you buy the car new, or did you buy it off someone?
Off subject, but hows that Z400 for a wheelie bike? Can it beat a 400ex in that comparison? I can hang a 400ex all day, but when im on a raptor i can only go through 2nd and 3rd, just power wheelies. Sorry bout the off question!

Actually, I had the exact same problem with my Trans Am. My driver's side tail light looked almost "tinted," compared the to passenger side. I went to a salvage yard and bought a new driver's side light for $40.
I have no idea how it happened, though. Must be a bad batch from the factory.

it is the driver's side that is "tinted". thanks, guys i guess i'll have to get a different one soon. as far as my z400 being a wheelie machine, i haven't really had a chance to ride it that much because i was in kuwait all summer and couldn't ride it that much. but my buddy has an ex and tried mine for wheelies and he sure went a long ways with mine. i'm still getting that whole balance thing down!

Red is correct. Mine did the same thing. Not that it makes a difference, but mine is the passenger side. I'm trying my best to ignore it so I don't have to pick up another set.

I wonder if it's a bad lens seal causing dirt to enter the assembly and making it look tinted? I guess you'd also see moisture in it too then....
