Last I'm saying about this but you WERE the first person to step in and start casting stones. Little, big, it makes no difference AND no matter how silly it seemed, you did insinuate that YOU could call the PoPo to stir **** up. Don't care what your response is...you did and you know it.

Were laws broken? Yes. Did he knowingly break them? I suppose, but don't care. Is is a high profile criminal...ummm...yeah. He's right up there with the drunk drivers, thieves, wife beaters, etc. My point here being that the cop could've just ticketed him for the front tag and license registration and gave him warnings for the other crap but NO, he sees a young person in a sports car and decides to leave his mark. IMO, which is worth as little as yours is, if it had been the guy's dad driving the car, he would've probably gotten away with 1 or 2 tickets and a warning.

If we were all held accountable to the letter of the law then we'd all be in jail. So just holster that pistol cowboy. Maybe you'll get a chance to try out your idealism with your own tickets some day. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Weasel,

Actually, I never insinuated I would call the police in his area - I advised him there may be someone that would do that - do you not think police read message boards? lol...

Sometimes people respond with juvenile name calling, it's all good man. I have been called far worse by far better men - for goodness sake it's an internet board! lol

As far as everyone being in jail if held accountable to the laws and regulations of our fine country... it may come as a shock to you but there is a large percentage of Americans that follow the laws regularly and respect them. If they had been warned to fix something, they would have done so. He stated he had been warned repeatedly, yet never (and still does not plan on) conformed to his state's requirement.

Weasel, with all due respect intended, my idealism doesn't come into play here. And I do get to practice with tickets, 40+ hours a week.
I will have you know I would never write someone a ticket for those things without personally warning them at least once - after that he was basically thumbing his nose at their request.

No hard feelings at all, you simply misinterpreted my advisement as a "stone casting".

In reality it was a friendly advisement...to a fellow Fbody owner. Maybe I should have reworded it - in daylight hours I can now see where it looks like I was saying I would - not my true intent but sarcasm&humor have a hard time coming through the written word sometimes at 0300.

He is not learning the right lesson here, I will stand by that.... and sadly we as adults aren't helping him a whole lot in the right direction by giving him advise to continue on.

Everyone seems to forget that just because court is this week - it isn't over there. If he does not change the violations, the tickets will keep coming back - do you think the police just forget?
"Gee, I lost in court so I better leave that kid and his car alone now."

Good luck in your choices InsaneSS - I remember them well from when I was your age. My driving record kept me out of the Academy for 6 years waiting for my license to clear - 6 years later I could start my career once a department could afford the insurance on me....lol.

Take it from someone who has been there, fix the car and pay the fines - or move somewhere else where the laws are more liberal when it comes to our cars!

The worst law on the books? It's against the law to commit suicide - but not to attempt it. So, if you try 1000 times and fail, you are ok. But if it works, you could receive a class E misdemeanor summons...lmao. Never really understood that one!

God Bless America

Good luck InsaneSS

All I can say is any cop that gives 6 tickets to someone for such petty stuff probably is in the wrong line of work - plus they are an a***ole. Obviously not a brilliant move to tell everyone on this board about your plan though. Most of these people are really cool, but you don't know who could be "monitoring" us. You just can't talk any sense into the "people with sticks up their butts".
NO-TEN83 - Even if you were messing around being sarcastic - you don't need to list the phone# to the cop shop and give other people an easy way to burn someone. There is "cool" and there is "not cool". That is definately "not cool" - and you should know that. If you don't have anything nice to say - don't say anything at all.
