this whole post has nothing to do with suicide doors!, the post is on lambo doors, doors which up straight up in the air, even by remote if u want, wayyy diff. than suicides.

Re: Lamborghini doors?can anyone photshop this
You would have to frame in the windows, seeing as how there is no frame at the top of the door now, just glass. This should prove to be a very involved and costly project.

Lamborghini doors are known as scissor doors. This is because of their appearance, and because of what thay can do if they fall.

Re: Lamborghini doors?can anyone photshop this
Just for kicks, thought I'd throw this link out there too.
Link: "Butterfly" style doors
I'm not into kits, especially since I already have a beautiful 4th gen f-bod, but the doors make for interesting conversation. The kits are for 3rd gens and come with the optional door package. From the looks of it, the door conversion is only $500 bucks. If you find this style interesting you might be able to contact this company and request the door hinge kit seperately. Just a thought. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Lamborghini doors?can anyone photshop this
they're different for sure.......you should do what you think would look best and what you think you would be happiest with.
They probably wouldn't help much in getting out of your car in tight parking places though

Re: Lamborghini doors?can anyone photshop this
True. The swing out reverse doors are "true" suicide doors, similar to the old Contientals.
The Lambo doors are totally different.
IF you can "kick open" the door, you can "kick out" the glass (front, side, back, pick one). It really doesn't take much to jam the doors though. A low to moderate, very survivab;e crash is certainly more than capable of jamming them. Especially considering the "quality control" issues you note
I have to agree, in most cases, the guy/gal that can drop that kinda coin on doors probably is totin' sumpthin' under da hood. Then agai, they may not care about performance, just looks. To each thier own man.
It is an interestingdesign. I looked into it several months ago, but decided against it forseveral reasons...time, cost, long term dependability for a daily driver/in and out 10-15 times a day....can't imagine they would hold up. Who knows though?
If you like it and can afford it.....hell....do it

Re: Lamborghini doors?can anyone photshop this
The Calif Camaro doors look llike a hybrid between the lambo scissor door and gull wing doors. Not sure how much they will help in tight spaces?
I do like them though, but like I said, I'm in and out 10-15+ times per day...wonder about the reliabiliity?
The last set on the acura, and honda, et al, are nice. I wonder though, again because of the weight of our doors vs. the imports...reliability?
Our doors tend to drop after a while anyway...any thoughts?
