The pics of those designs you did(I think they were 5th gen style) were damn cool! even If they were fiberglass ready to paint I'd want one(made the car look more modern) Oh well!

Give me some time to make the sail panels happen I've been sick for three day but feeling better and need to knock out all these door panel orders before pursuing anything else.

Anyone have a sail panel in perfect shape that they would like to work out a trade on for one of the first carbon ones? Need a piece to pull the mold off

I'll save you guys some headache (since we attempted this)... You will not be able to use one off a car (even the most skilled body man with piano wire is no match for GM's cheap composite and overcompensating glue, it'll not be mold worth when it comes off).

You need either:

1) A brand new one from GM (I think like $400)...

or

2) Just make the mold on the panel on the car...

Best of luck!

You could always go to a junkyard and literally cut off the piece of the roof containing the sailpanel of a junkyard camaro and then just grind off the excess edges.

Wasn't 6LE gonna do something similar but for the cost?
yeah I have a hard top roof here to pull a mold if the sail panels go over well.

That isn't bad for shipping that large of an item imo.

DMH, My Trans Am w/T-tops has been just sitting, I have little to no time to work on the project so if you need a car and you can get it, via trailer or shipping, you can use it to duplicate ANY part you want!

Oh man, if you did a sail panel for a halfway decent price I would be all over it! Mine is bubbling up like crazy!

It will be around the price of an oem one or a hair cheaper Shipping will cost a bit though.

I would be interested in both the sail panel and hard top roof as mine is finally starting to bubble.

Would the carbon fiber be UV coated and ment to be unpainted or would it be rough and paintable? Perhaps both options?

Would the panels install with glue like the factory panels?

If you remember, please send me a PM when you have made progress on this.

I would probably make them as a finished piece with only small defects. Therefore they could be run as is and look carbon or primed and painted. With the carbon/epoxy we use, they would just need to be clear coated for UV protection.

And yes they would be glued on.

I'm sure we could work something out. Shoot me a PM and if you have a pic of the door panels and the door with them off that would be helpful.
