Default 300 MPH speedometer

Has anyone seen this before? Just saw it on a vette today. Talk about crazy.

Pointless? Maybe, unless you can afford to have a tuner like Lingenfelter hook you up. That one 'vette that hit 0-60 in 1.97 seconds has a top speed of about 240 MPH.

I think this is either a photoshop or some issue with the head's up display computer.

This is a Canadian car (the dealer is in Montreal) and the speedometers in these are in kilometers. This is a 300 kilometer per hour speedo which equates to 187.5 mph.

Look at the door tag at http://www.autodorval.com/corvette/My_Pictures0020.jpg.

It shows the car was build for Canadian use.

Also notice how much brighter the M in MPH is compared to the rest of the dash lights.

the granettli 200 MPH gauges are available for both TA and Camaro BUT (heres the sad part) if you want them then they will light up in BLUE/GREEN like the stock camaro gauges light up .

Good new is you could change the bulbs to have them light up in red (like the stock TAs do). I know that some people replaced the bulbs and tried working on it here and there but i dont know how they came out.

Maybe someone can ask granettli to see if they made correct replacement gauges for Trans Ams that do light up in red just like the stock TAs ?

as for the previous post. The link doesnt work.

I'll ask Granatelli about the lights. As far as the vette, it was for sale. You could always ask and see if it is a kilo or mph speedo.

Its not REALLY a 300 MPH speedo.

my roomate has a 98 vette with the same thing

it actually can switch between MPH and KPH.

the 300 is KPH so MPH is still around 150.

you can see the greenish blue light in the pic, that indicates what mode you are in.

Yeah, Granatelli makes them. $300, and you have to send them your core with year, make and model.

The Corvette speedos don't go up to 150. They go up to like 200, don't they?
