Default Headlight Options..

So I want to change up the look of my front end. I figure the best way to do that is to either replace or mod my headlights. The problem is, there are too many freakin' options!

Please post pics of your headlight mods or changes. I'm really interested in trying the whistler mod or getting projector headlights with the halos.

Thanks everybody!

If you go with eBay halos, I recommend the Sonars over the Eagle Eyes. The Sonars have bigger rings that fill out better, and don't light up as bright as the CCFLs in the Eagle Eyes (which I prefer). I had the halos die out on the Eagle Eyes within a year and a half or so. Had Sonars on for about a month so I can't speak for their reliability just yet.

The Eagle Eyes also have some tacky design in them. The Sonars just have a crappy chrome ring around the low beam projector. The Sonars also have the three LEDs on the outer side of each, instead of the ugly Audi-style LEDs that the Eagle Eyes have.

The cutoff on the Sonar projectors suck but I'm not surprised. I can't speak for the Eagle Eyes since I wasn't running HIDs in those.

I don't like halos so I've been debating the whistler mod for a while. I started a thread for the whistler mod. Check it out

Maybe you got a faulty set. The cutoff in the Sonars is far superior than the Eagle Eyes, and the beam pattern is wider too. My Eagle Eyes were like a dish shape curved upwards, my Sonars are mostly flat across the top. I'm not the only one to notice this difference either. Naturally compared to a good quality true HID projector they aren't much of anything.

I will agree on the funny chrome ring on the Sonars though, and I prefer the high beam reflector look on the Eagle Eyes over the Sonars, but functionality wise the Sonars have the Eagle Eyes beat.

I'm leaning towards the whistler mod. I'm going to start college in about a week so I'm getting short on cash in a hurry.

Unless somebody has some cheap Sonars for sale!

You used the H3 halogens that came with it? How did you even see where you were going?

^^^ don't want to be too nitpicky but those aren't projector lights. Halo, yes, but still standard reflector housings. Actually very similar to the stock housings just with the halo insert in front.

That pretty much what I was thinking about doing but going ahead and doing the whistler mod while i had the lights apart.

Where did you get the halo ring? Somebody said that computer fans had rings around them like that, but I don't know if that's legit.
