I'll be building some a little different way. I'm going to use the stock headlight (with whistler mod) and put the halos in the high beam housing and wire it to the high beam lights (and disconnecting the high beam bulbs). I'll keep you updated on the progress. PS I don't currently have a car to put them in so I'll have to get pics of it connected to a battery :/ sorry

Nice! Mine are pretty good at night because they are right around the projector so if you look at them straight on the hids drown them mostly out but at an angle they show up.

I think I want to make a bypass switch for my headlights though.

contemplating on this...where would you put the bypass switch for us dummies? Would you just put it on the other halo light (not the red ring) to kill power?

Edit: Is there a replacement CCFL halo light that's much brighter than the one it comes with so you do the inside one?

For some reason, I thought this mod was going to be sold on a regular basis... Maybe I lost my mind otherwise..

Me too ive been dying for a set of red hhalos for my car. Ive already got thhe halo headlights i just think it would be badass with red halos instead of the normal bluish whhite haalos

So just out of curiosity, how is the light output from the projectors on the Sonars? I keep reading that these aren't "true" HID projectors so the light output will not be as nice as said "true" HID projectors. I am wanting to get these headlights and do the CCFL mod, but I don't want my HID's not to be bright like they are now (without any projector whatsoever). I read in the lighting FAQ that in some projector headlights, they actually changed out the projector assembly for a true HID output. I hope this isn't necessary for the Sonars. And also, the headlight assembly I have now, the LED halos burnt out due to my 55w HID's. I'm hoping that everything on the Sonar assembly is designed durably enough for the halo rings not to burn out. Thanks!

55W HID is too much. I wouldn't put that in the Sonars, and heck putting those in your reflectors is being a giant jerk to everyone else on the road. You do realize that 55W HID is 1.5x - 2x BRIGHTER than standard high beams? Think about what oncoming traffic sees, or rather can't see anything else but that bright light

i cant find any RED ccfls for my halos they come out pink thats happened 3 times!! and also 80mm is not my stock halo size i have the 1 halo per headlight ebay lights any advice??

i wanting to do this to my sonars. has anyone done 2 red halos on each light? and where can i find the halo rings?
