You will still need a orbital to finish it up without any marks if your looking for that perfect finish. Although there are detailers who can finish with a rotary.

Research detailing in depth, that statement is 100% myth and untrue. You can use a rotary and finish down to a crystal clear finish....it's about the polish/pad combo and your technique.

capo, go back a page or 2 and watch the youtube video i posted.....that kid does just fine with a rotary

the sail panel has to be the hardest part of an fbody to remove swirls.....i think i read once that its not regular paint, and not sure if its clear coated

how do you plan on washing it ? cuz swirls are gonna happen, even with the most precautions....

sad but true

Im never gonna was it again LOL.. If I do.. by my hand lol.. No idea how I will yet... I don't know what wash mitt to use either

It sounds like micro-marring. GM clearcoats are one of the hardest clears out there. Because of this, people can generally hit it with a yellow/orange pad with the M105 and not have any micro-marring.

I probably didn't take that into account when working on the sail panel. Because the combo inflicted micro-marring, the clear must be a softer clear than the rest of the body (since it's a repainted sail and not GM paint).
