Default Have $500 total for SS hood including shipping, any out there for the price?

Trying to finish up my LS1 front clip swap, trying to find an 98-02 SS hood, I want the fit and finish to look factory. Looking on ebay and I see a bunch around 250 plus shipping, but mostly no name brands, just wondering if anyone has had any luck with these or any other ideas? Not sure if any sponsors have anything?

If you're good with body work, you can try certi-fit. They're very cheaply made and will take a lot of prep work to look right, but they're the cheapest you can get. I had one and several friends have them. As long as you prep it right, it'll look great. Just don't spray it straight from them!!!

Well I was a bodyman for awhile, so I dont mind a little block sanding, just want the hood to line up right. Where can i get the certi-fit hoods? I also heard of hoods4you or something like that, but not sure how to search by seller on ebay? anyone know?

If you have that much to spend I would try finding an OEM one locally. $400-700 is the prices I have seen for an OEM SS hood.

Hey Mike did you check out VFN? They are in Addison, so you can drive down there and pick it up. I didn't see a stock SS hood on their site, but this one doesn't look bad for 400 http://performance.vfnfiberglass.com...&productId=701

Don't know about their fit/finish but they are a sponsor on here too.

I would go with a used OEM hood. Just look around.
