Lol Thanks Jesse. I didn't sand them at all. I painted them red last year; the brackets and the calipers. I grew to HATE the red brackets and eventually got tired of the red showing so much dust and dirt. I sprayed them with brake cleaner and let them dry and then I just coated them with black until I thought it was well-covered. After I let them dry for an hour I applied the decals and let them sit for a few minutes. Last, I cleared the **** out of them, lol. I seriously layed on 5 or 6 really thick coats of clear. I was worried that I would have to wet sand them so they wouldn't look cloudy, but they never clouded up and they still look like glass. I didn't even tape anything off because the black just blends. Any overspray on the rotor came off the first time I used the brakes. Thanks again.

Are you guys using caliper paint, high-temp paint or what? Also, do you need high temp clear coat?

Reguarding the paint; DupliColor just released a series of spray cans that are supposed to be factory-spec paints and codes. On my old 97 Z28 I used caliper paint and it sucked. It looked dull (red) and stayed dirty. Last time I painted these I used High-temp engine paint (red) and the same brand clear coat. Almost the same results as the caliper paint. This time I used the Duplicolor Paint match cans and they turned out GREAT. You can get the paint at Advance Auto.

lol The same as the paint; DupliColor Perfect Match. It lays on thick and spreads perfectly. I can't praise it enough for ease of use and outcome. Good luck Jesse.

very good sir thank you.. I'm getting sick and tired of these shitty spray cans that come out all orange-peeled.. hopefully the Duplicolor Perfect Match comes out nice.. I have seen them plenty of times lately but haven't thought much of it

I tried using this stuff on my rev extreme catch can.. I used Duplicolor filler primer then sanded down smooth and used 3-4 coats of the black Perfect Match BUN0100 paint and it went on decent. Then I used the Perfect Match clear and followed the directions and it started wrinkling like a mother ******. I don't know how you sprayed heavy coat after coat and I couldn't even lay down a nice base coat of the **** ?? I can't suck that bad at spray painting lol

Damn Jesse, sorry to hear about that lol. I layed down THICK coats about 3 mins. apart and it has no more orange peel than should be expected from a non-smoothed caliper. Mine sprayed perfectly, but it's just like Blingmaster; some say it's better than sex but it sucked dick at ******* ***** on my junk.

Yea I was pretty pissed about it.. I was basically doing a test spray on the catch can first before I went ahead and used it on the supports and shock towers in the engine bay. Good thing I didn't now! Maybe the weather conditions weren't right or something I have no idea. I'm pretty sure the humidity was over the suggested limit on the bottle but I didn't think it could affect it that much.
