Default Weird paint problem on civic

So, my daily is an 06 civic si, and I went to get in yesterday, and it's got what looks like burn marks in the clear coat (like it was watersanded too hard) in two spots on the roof. It's not rough or bubbled or anything, just looks like ****. Thinking about bringing it to the stealership to see if they will do anything for me. Never put any kind of abrasive chemical on it, nor has it been a progressive thing.

When did you get the car? If it was recently, and it was bought from a dealership....I guarantee you that the dealership sanded a scratch out, and then covered it with a product that "hid" the defect. Now, it's showing it's face.

Nope, bought it from an auction over a year ago through the lot I worked at. Buffed it myself. Never seen anything like this before. I mean it just popped up one day.

sounds like clearcoat failure to me, hard to say without pics. I wouldnt think though being a 06, although honda paint is so thin and enviornmentally friendly.

My roommates car had some splotches on it one day, turns out someone egged it and then it rained and washed the crap off, but you could clearly see where it was. He was pretty pissed.
