I was wondering if any of you guys can see the fiber glass inlay in your hood and rear spoiler.I discovered a while back when I was polishing my hood, that when I get the light at the right angle I can see like grooves going all directions in the paint. It appears to be like the pattern of fiberglass that was not sanded properly. My car is all original with no previous paint work. This is the way it came from SLP.Some of the grooves are deep enough to feel with your finger.Am I the only one with this issue or is it common on SS models?

Well ,I know you can see a lot more imperfections in the lighter metallic paints as opposed to red or white but I may have a problem. Its like maybe something did not cure right or something.Almost as if the base coat wrinkled before the clear was applied.Anyone else ?

I'm going to re-state,the issue is not easily seen by just standing by the car.As a matter of fact out in the sun or just looking down at the car ,you can't see it.But under like florescent light and you have to get down and create an angle ,it shows up.Anyone else?

Yep, I've noticed it more pronounced recently. My guess is the gel coat is shrinking. I'm not looking forward to finding out how much it will cost to fix when the time comes.

I'm sorry to bring this out, but I was hoping one of the more experienced detail guys could shed some light on the issue.I thought about trying to wet sand and polish, but I believe the grooves are too deep. You would probably break the clear if you sanded far enough to get them out.I think this is something we're going to have to live with until your ready to completely strip and re-paint.
