Wow i was just about to start a thread on this. Got boned by a pig for not having insurance when he stopped me for no plate.. stupid me.. Buttt..now i gotta figure out what the hell to do about my plate and wanted to see what everyone else was doing.. I like the guy's earlier idea of velcro.. also texas law states your required to have a front and back plate but the placement or mounting of the license plates is undefined, so i figure i could tell the washington cops to shut their traps with that.

On a side note theres something called ask an officer last online, pretty much a forum of cops where people ask questions like this or w.e. I was reading it last night and it was pretty entertaining, i think most cops get off to screwing people over for this kinda stuff.. F. T. P.

The cops around here suck. I just got a ticket for having license plate covers on my car

I've always thought about getting one of these things and I believe they sell them on Summit.

I think it used to be a fix it ticket in NY but they changed it in the past few years. Even though its slightly different when I got the license plate cover ticket a few weeks ago I specifically asked the cop whether or not it was a fix it ticket and he told me it wasn't.

Plead not guilty.. They reduced mine by about $40. Not a huge deal, but still its $40 I saved for an hour being in court. They dropped it to a parking ticket.

how exactly does that work? if you don't have a front plate on your car and you drive it you are guilty... isn't that the end of the story?? i already had holes in my bumper but i STILL took that crap off and capped the holes.. i will take my chances...

Post some pics when you get it installed
You have to remember this...its EASY money for the city! Thats the only reason they waste their time citing for no front plate, because it brings in revenue and there's no way to dispute it, you either have it or you don't! You would be SHOCKED if you knoew how much money is generated by driving citations!

Oh I know you never ever ever ever ever ever ever plead guilty to a traffic infraction in NYS.

Its like a speeding ticket. I've gotten 2. 72 in a 55mph zone and 71 in a 55mph zone. I plead not guilty to both tickets, and the DA gave me a plea deal which basically cut the fine in half and only put 2 points on my license for each instead of 4 each. I technically dont have a speeding ticket on my record. HOWEVER, I have 2 "failure to obey a traffic device" tickets, even though I didnt break that law.

Same thing with the no front plate tickets. They would rather just settle and save their money, so they give you a plea deal, and if you accept it, you'll save $$$.

The DA said the ticket could be anywhere from $115 to $200, and if I accepted the parking ticket as a plea, it would $75 or $85 (I cant remember).

Well when i got a ticket for no front plate back in 08 i believe, it turned out being a fix it ticket. I was ready to pay the amount, untill the lady told me that i could just get the plate put on and have the ticket dismissed. So thats what i did....

I also got my kit from ninosport.com

Ya here in Columbus, Ohio gotten pulled over twice in a 2 week period for no front plate. 100 ticket no matter what its considered failure to display and if you go to court the judge will knock it down. But Im done with it time to pick up a show-n-go retractable plate I guess. I thought about the air dam but Im sure the cops here will bitch about that!!

Worth a try.. i've made it all year with no problems. I just made it so the letters are all the way at the bottom..then bent the rest underneath. Figured if they are coming toward you they will see it.
