Help with blinker problem....

Help with blinker problem.... I hope I am posting this in the right section..... I have a 1999 Z28 that I recently bought and I am having a problem with the blinker on the passenger side. When I bought the car the passenger side blinker didnt work. It would just come on and stay on. I pulled it out of the housing I noticed that the blinker housing was full of water and had a crack in it and the bulb and socket were all burnt up so I bought a new socket for it and replaced the bulb and now its burning up the new socket but the bulb isnt going out. There is no more water in the housing. What could be causing this? Thanks for the help.

Possibly a crack in your corner lights that is letting moisture in? This happened to me when i installed clear corners on my car, the cover wasn't fully sealed against the housing.
Also, it might have a short somewhere in the wire since it burned up before? It wouldnt hurt to put some dielectric grease in the bulb housing to help keep moisture out. Hope this helps.

Yea, the corners are BRAND NEW. I will put some dielectric grease in there just in case. So where should I start looking for a short? Could a relay be causing this?

^ mine has black around the socket of the corner lights and thats because the first set of corners lights i had, when they were made, i think they made the hole for the socket a lil to far back and the bulb was melting itself to the back of the housing part then after but i never had any problems out of the socket itself though, i just took and got new corners and replaced the bulbs and havent had a prob with em yet so idk about the black around the socket on yours unless yours had the same problem i had with clear corners or the factory ones

I think they look burnt because of the heat from the bulb. I replaced mine and they looked burnt after a short time. Even my new truck has the same look. I think they make ceramic sockets to hold up to the heat better but I've never seen any at the store. Maybe they can be found online.
