Okay Mark as your business is still up and running, I have noticed that a lot of us guys here have the dreaded bubbles forming on the sail panel part of our roof. What would it take to get a new fiberglass piece or even a carbon fiber piece made? I know you'd get a lot of business with this product. Can you make it happen?

We're heavily looking into it, but It's hard to improve on a product that GM made so well. Their only fault was the adhesive used.....and that their hard to find.

The sail panel is on the list of 6LE parts to work on.

luckily, i haven't had this problem with any of my cars.

what year did it start with? i've had 98 and 99 cars and no issues

Crimson... I think it started either in '00 or '01, I can't remember correctly but its one of those two years I posted. I think in the stickeys theres one on how to fix the problem yourself and a couple guys even convinced a dealership to either fix it or take the car somewhere to have the problem fixed.

Crimson... No kidding but on the other had my fiancee's car is an '01 and her's has got that crap going on with her's so one day in the near future I got to fix it cause she has done started making plans for her car.

so mark, youre saying its tough to find a panel as a mold or model? i have heard of guys taking these things off using a type of razor wire as a saw, two guys sawing it off on the plane. not just breaking it off. i have a 99 and it bubbles. it never did til i had the car repainted. then bam, here they were.

yeah and make a sail panel with a vortex generator and an antenna attachment!! even though we've concluded that the vortex generator is useless for our cars it will be an excuse to get rid of our side antennas!

Has anyone thought about making the sail panel a 3-piece? Shipping would be ALOT easier/cheaper on this. have the lines right at the window upper corner going straight back. . .? ? ?

Or just two pieces, split it right in the middle where the T-Top center line is.

That way we can leave it split or have our body shop fiberglass it.

If they have to fiberglass it, thats labor and defeats the point of my question (based on the shipping costs. . .) If the lines are clean and rounded well, it'll look like a factory seam.

Yeah I'm saying you could have the split right in the middle to look just like the Factory center seam of the T-Tops. (if you wanted to fiberglass you could)

I just don't see how 3 pieces would look better then 2.

multiple pieces would look bad all together, be it 2 or 3. random seams should have no place on a car

mine is a 98 and i had 96 before and no single problem with it. so i guess its a 00-02 problem.
