Does 2002 ECM report CVN/CSV?
LSS I'm looking at a LS3 swap on a 2002 Corvette. CA Smog test includes a ECM-CVN check. Obviously, if I reprogram for the LS3 it will not have the same CVM/CSV.
I've heard the 2001 ECM's don't report (and thus are not a problem), but can't find any information on 2002. Can anyone confirm?
The irony here is I plan to stay emissions compliant, and the LS3 'should' run cleaner than the 180K mile LS6 in the car
I may be filing a FOIA request shortly, if I do expect this to be posted on every forum I can find
Anyway, the ECU was the same from 99-03. Referred to as the P01. So I would think it would operate the same throughout those years.
04 got the P59. It has more internal memory. Unsure if it reports what you ask or not?
Some of the early cars, they don't have a record of the correct CVN because of the rolling changes. Just because it displays N/A doesn't mean it won't display one. It just means that GM doesn't have a record of the correct CVN. After around 2005 or 2006 they started keeping better records.

I guess the next question is - which of these do I need to 'worry' about? Is it all of them or just one?

I have seen vehicles go through the new system with the wrong calibration and pass. But if some one decides to take a closer look they could revoke the registration.
if the shop you got.to gets popped or has had a history of doing illegal stuff they may watch closer.
But let's not forget one thing here. It's all 1s and 0s and the data can be manipulated in various ways.
