Default Want a new hood

Anyone know where I can get an inexpensive cowl hood? I'm looking at anything from 2-4", don't care what brand/material it is. Is it possible to get a stocker pressed into a cowl?

I have never heard of a stocker beeing made into a cowl hood, you will get what you pay for,I mean if this is a drag car you can most likely find a cheap pin on,but if its a street car your gonna want something nice,I mean you pay for the fit and finish, there are a lot of good hoods out there, when I got my hood I went threw vfn,I got a 3 inch ss hood from them and it fit great and was really nice,I have seen some after market hoods and some of them are such a bad fit,I don't see that there is anyway to have a stock hood made into a cowl,if you are looking for cheap check ebay but you have been warned,I would save up a lil more and buy something from a good company that makes a quality hood,if you go cheap and if your not doing the body work yourself your just gonna pay more to have it fit and painted, and it still might not line up right,I think I paid a lil over 6 for mine and that was with shipping cost,

If ya care what it looks like and how it fits it is well worth the few extra bucks to get something quality ,I'm sure there are a few ebay hoods that fit good but I would do your research before you spend any money,I have read way more bad things about people who have delt with getting things like that off of ebay than good things,I would try maybe posting something in the wanted adds on here and see if anything turns up

Yea I agree about getting what you pay for. Right now it's still a street car, so i'll need a hood that still bolts on. I've seen some on eBay that are pretty cheap but most likely fit like garbage. I just threw the idea about the stock hood out there since I don't know, figured it was worth a shot.

Yeah I mean if you have a ss hood in good shape you could always sell that one,the only reason I sold my ss hood some guy at a car show offered 800 on the spot,I couldn't believe it,I was like ok and we took it off right there lol,but they usally go for about 400 range, sometime vfn has sales and what not,but vfn takes awhile ,took about 5 weeks to get my hood. That was the only bad part about going threw them it was worth the wait though. As a lot of people are getting to put there cars away I bet a few of them will pop up for sale,

VFN has a 2" or 4" and runs sales every so often, that's what I've been thinking about

I missed out on a carbon fiber SS hood last week fir about $300, it was pretty nice. I'll post on the wanted ads and see if anything comes up. I care more about the fitment than the cost, so if I have to wait then I'll wait.

I posted in the want ads here and ended up tradeing my SS hood for a VFN Sunoco hood.
Couldn't be happier.
