Hit up 6LITEREATER. My tach used to get stuck all the time with my old overlays. Mark's are awesome quality and look like they came from the factory (but better). Tach never gets stuck any more either.

They are very nice, but I don't like how they don't seem to fit as flush within the Trans Am gauge bezel as the factory gauges.

I have never had any sticking problems with my macewens, although I did add a Trans Am gauge bezel, which probably holds them down better.

I have had 3 sets of macewens gauges (one 96 Z28 cluster and two Ls1 clusters, a 98 Z28 and my 01 Firehawk) Fit and finish on them looks just like stock. I get a lot of ppl that ask me if my car came that way stock because they can't tell.

To me it all comes down to this, if you want something that looks Just like stock but only Silver or White macewens is they way the to go. If you want something very custom go with 6LE.

Why are you saying they dont sit flush? They replace the entire overlay, just like putting a brand new OEM overlay on a cluster. The cheaper overlays are just stickers & come in pieces, if anything sits higher than stock it would be those since you add them on top of the stock overlay.

You can change your bulb color to whatever you want with the 6LE overlay as well. With a stocker your stuck with red in a Pontiac & the blue/green in a Camaro, unless you remove the coloring on the back side of the stock overlay.

You can also get custom gauge cluster needles from 6LE to make a totally custom cluster. There is pretty much no limit to the design possibilities either. Far superior to just picking white or silver.

Not the height. Look up some pics and look at the gaps around the outer edge of speedometer and tach where they are supposed to touch or be flush with the Trans Am gauge bezel. These small gaps do not exist with a factory setup. The one posted above is the best fit I have seen so far. I'll edit a pic if you don't understand what I am saying. The gauges are very nice, it is just a small issue that bugs me about them. Its not a big deal for most

i have no clue what you are talking about. I had 6LE gauges and never saw any gap. you might just be biased toward what you have, which is understandable.

Some marks on the speedo and tach don't "tetris" or fit within the Trans Am gauge bezel as well as a factory setup..

Notice how my hash marks touch the bezel all the way around on the both the tach and speedo and on the gauges posted above they do not.. perhaps it has to do with how well ppl are lining them up during install

Regardless, they are still very nice replacement gauges and would consider getting a set if i didn't already have these
