t-top to targa top conversion
I'm thinking about doing this down the road. anyone have an idea of how much something like this would cost? how hard can this be to do it your self? anyone have pics of an fbody with a traga? I was thinking of doing the targa with a 6lE targa top.

as asked for, camaro with full targa: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/494782...eensboro-nc-us
there's another camaro with the full targa done (red and gold z28), and also a firehawk (member here on tech), and another member who started a thread like a month ago after cutting his roof out. but i dont feel like digging up those links at the moment
I'm going to be doing a full targa conversion as well, once 6LE's done with them. I'll already have the SFC's in before doing any cutting. If Mark's cool with it, i'd like to drive down to socal to pick it up and cut the t-top bar out and all while there. I know they have a lot of experienc with cutting these roofs apart, so they'll have a better idea of exactly what to do than i would. plus i wouldn't have to ship it, and i have some friends to visit while there, so it'll be worth the 5 hour drive.

they're still in the process of being made, but you can pre-order now

yeah, there're at least 3 other fbodys with targa's. not sure what kind of the tops they made, or if they have tops at all, but i know they cut the bar out and had it all finished up. If no one else searches the links i'll post them up later, i've posted them several times in other targa threads, so they shouldn't be hard to find.

Pretty neat that you can actually fit the targ in the trunk !!
I just think it's a little bit, and I mean Just a little bit, off...because the sail panels are too angled/slanted. Look at the vette (or any other targa roof equipped car) and it's very vertical sail panel and always looks better. If the fbodys' panels were just had less angle to them this would be a MUST do mod!!

a- the carbon fiber would look great
b- the t-tops are admittedly dated
I just got 2 quotes from local body shops one for 250 and the other for 280, I want to hear some buyers feedback however before I pull the trigger on them.
I am hopeful that the feedback is positive, once I see positive feedback from more than just 1 or 2 members I'm all over them. Structural integrity is a big concern, at minimum I;d ensure to install SFC's & maybe even a 4 or 6 point roll cage to ensure safety & to protect bending of chassis.
This is a perfect example of the benefits of how very valuable LS1Tech forum (to make informed decisions) & potential saving yourself folding your chassis in half if that t-bar plays a serious role in structural integrity.

It will sacrifice some structural integrity why you will have to get sfc and with f-bodys already having all that flex Im cool. If I could of got my Zee with out the t-tops I would have just due to all the flex f-bodys have.
