I just sprayed some WD40 behind my moldings, let it sit for half an hour, scraped it off with a plastic putty knife, then used Goo Gone to remove the remaining residue/adhesive.

I used weed whacker line.. Used it like a saw and pulled it back and forth until I could grab an end and then gently pulled the molding off.. Very easy.. Just used thumb to roll off the remaining 3m tape... Definitely do it in warmer temps or use a hair dryer..

-probably the easiest is an adhesive remover wheel (google it), never used one, but the people who have swear by it, and when i looked into them they definitely seem to be the way to go. I'll use one when i remove the molding from my camaro.

-i just used a hair dryer (heat gun would be better, i dont have one) to heat it up and then used my fingers to push/pull an edge up enough to get a grip on it, then you just pull slowly, straight back towards the car , like a sharp u-turn, which will help keep it in one piece, as opposed to it just breaking apart, which it will do if you try to pull at a 90 degree angle away from the car. it helps if while you're pulling, you slightly push up on it with your other hand, in the place where its coming off the car. (hopefully you understand that, its hard to put in words). it'll also help to spray the adhesive down with wd40 or some goof off to help loosen up the adhesive as you work.
i understand ya completely! almost a mini write up haha
thanks crimson!

Do it. The car will look alot cleaner. I started on mine last week but ran out of daylight and work came up. Now I have one side all smooth and the other with trim and emblems. Been raining ever since.

I took mine off mainly because they were faded and looked pink....Car looks WAY smoother then before. When I started my friend and dad started saying thats so stupid and blah blah blah, and by time they saw it with one side done they were asking how come the car didnt come like that from the get go. Instantly makes the car look newer and more free flowing

I'll prob bring it in the garage tomorrow, turn on a football game, give it a good cleaning, and take off the moldings.

i know when my dad got my sisters 02 v6 it was an option to get the side moldings, not sure on the z28's and SS's. i think they might have been standard but not sure. just fyi.

Thinking my molding will be coming off in the spring time when the car comes back out, think I'll be subscribing to this so I remember to do it.

LET ME PUT IT THIS WAY FOR YOU. I've never heard anybody say about my car, "Wow, this trans am needs some sort of side molding on there to disrupt the curvature of the body and create a sensational eye sore for me!"
