I have a 2000 Trans am and it has black interior. And apparently some. People think im lying when I say it is black not ebony. I admit that I dyed my carpet black but the seats and door panels are all facory

Looks ebony to me, which is damn close to black. I have never seen a black option in any literature or info I have found. Only way to tell for sure is to pull the RPO codes.

It's possible someone spray dyed your door panels black if it's truly darker.
I don't specialize in Pontiacs whatsoever, but if that car was a Camaro, I'd say with 100% certainty if it came from the factory like that, it's ebony. Black simply never existed for Camaros and I'm 99% certain it didn't exist for Pontiacs either. There was no special 1-off accident or anything.
Ebony was only available 00-02.

I put 02 Trans Am door panels in my camaro and the leather is a little darker than my ebony interior. So far its been that was in all TA's. Don't think it was an option, just a different cut of leather
