anybody have it set up to have flames come out your tips? how would you go about doing that? I have heard in the "olden" days something about a wire going from battery to a spark plug you mount in your pipe ???? but you have to have straight pipes..no cats..anyone that can add to this ?

It was just on TNN yesterday, on a show called Trucks. There is a kit you can buy that has a switch and all the wiring for the electrical connections, but you still need to get a couple of cheap coils and spark plugs. They also said it can't be hooked up on a car that has catylitic converters, something about running raw gas through the engine and exhaust.

Yeah, cause it pulls the spark away from the engine, and draws it to the "flame thrower" i cant remember the name of the company, but maybe doing a search on google or yahoo could help, and if you've got cats and still want it, simple enough...OFF ROAD PIPE! lol <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

This topic has been on and off LS1 boards for the past 2 years, but no one has provided a video or proof of having done it.
Gimme the info!

The Feb. issue of Car Audio and Electronics has an article on a '55 Olds that is on the cover with this setup. They explain it in that article.

I just got a broshure from a company that is offering the full complete kits...I think its Auto-loc??..Ill call my rep tomarrow and confirm but im pretty sure that that is the newest flame thrower kit out..??

Ive been looking into this for one of my companys promo cars which is carburated...im not sure how well it would work on a late model f-body??? might need to run a seperate fuel pump and a switch to dump the fuel for your engine into the exhaust...i know that that is how they get those huge *** flames like the merc from gone in 60 seconds....youll need to run your car richwer too im sure??

good luck

***I just clicked the link above and saw that it was auto loc....lol...wish i had seen that first....lol

Well, you can either spend $100 to $150 bux on one of the many ignition kits available online or you can easily do it all yourself for just a few bux with basic stuff that can be had at any Auto Parts store <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Just use my wiring diagram and you'll be good to go for making the ignition:

<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image4/5/77/20/53657720gOAFdg_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />

I swiped one of the wife's tupperware bowls (she's still looking for it), stuffed the relays and other goodies inside and mounted it under the left cubby hole in the trunk of my T/A, which was then covered with my Stealthbox enclosure....

<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image2/0/48/19/48404819XTpfmH_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />

<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image2/0/47/35/48404735iVuhbn_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />

Now adding fuel is another story....

All you need is a basic fuel solenoid to inject fuel through fan nozzles mounted in the tailpipes <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" />

Here's a pic of a nozzle mounted on one of my customer's cars...

<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image1/1/95/94/34719594LzhsWu_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />

Since the system doesn't inject fuel into the engine, there's no worry about bogging the motor or melting the cats <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Start off with the smallest jets possible and work your way up to make the flames longer....

I'm still waiting on another solenoid to complete the system in my T/A...

I plan on running two noids inline as a safety precaution in case one solenoid gets stuck in the open position...

Rick, where is the spark plug located in reference to that fuel nozzle in the pic?

The plugs are mounted about 6" from the very ends of the tips...

He used giant 16" tips on his V6 beater Rustang <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

He's such a Riceboy lol

Even has a big Fire Extinguisher in the trunk that's painted blue with a TNT sticker on it haha

Goes along well with the Glow-In-The-Dark pedals, Cobra Emblems (yes, it's a V6), blue anodized aluminum lugnut caps and Type-R seatbelt warmers (or whatever you call them things)
