Default What the hell did I just buy - Metal Fender?

I'm about to have my car painted, so I wanted to replace the slightly damaged fender. I found this one in Phoenix so I picked it up while I was there.

The odd thing is, it seems to be made out of some kind of metal - or atleast something heavier than the stock fenders. I tried to stick a magnet to it, and it didn't stick but I'm still pretty sure its some type of metal.

It also seems to have an extra/different mounting spot. I know there are companies that make aftermarket "eBay" fenders, but I didn't think they were made out of a type of metal.

Anyone have a clue where this might have come from?

looks like a factory fender. Cant really tell from the pics, but it looks like a part number and a date stamp on the back side there. these were put on parts such as these from the fender.

the stock fenders are heavy.

A magnet would stick if it were steel, which would be the only metal a fender would be made out of.

If it were metal, and a magnet didnt stick, it would have to be aluminum, titanium, or stainless steel. Neither of those make any sense.

The stock fenders were made in Taiwan? These are stamped "Made in Taiwan" on the inside. No GM logo on it anywhere.

I wish I had my car here to compare.

It seems to be made almost stronger than the stock ones - so I was just curious to know if there was a reputable company that made aftermarket ones, because I've heard horror stories about trying to line up aftermarket fenders.

no matter how big the company, or what they claim; they all suck. the stamp on the inside looks similar to one we always get at work. Sometimes they will fit decent but you wont know until you test fit it.

Now I don't know if I should put it on or just keep looking for an OEM one.
