Default Cool or Stupid?

im going to be getting an ls6 intake this weekend but i will not be able to put it on for the next month. so that gives me plenty of time to paint it. how do yall think it would look gloss black with a pontiac logo down the middle? i just dont know because the intake isnt a flat surface

Could do it along the front runner pretty easily.

Hmmm--thinking it's going to look like you just slapped something on there, given the contours of the intake.

Do it, if you don't like it, paint it gloss black or red.

You plan on covering the entire intake with the logo?

The only problem I could think of, is that I think it would be hard to keep the logo looking good through the grooves. I think it would look crooked. If it were an LT1 with the flat intake, I'd say go for it... But it would be much harder on the LS6 intake.

Good luck, and please let us know how it goes!

I think 90% of painted intakes look gaughty. The only ones I personally like are ones with subtle colors like a gun metal or something. Butntp each their own. Some people love the flashy colors. I would say try it though. If it looks like crap paint it a different color!

i would paint it red, tape it off the logo and paint the intake black. If it doesn't turn out good, paint it black again, no one will know.

*More difficult approach*

What if you only painted the logo onto the top of the runners, not on the crevices?
Think chaulk line... The line only touches the tangent points and lets you keep a straight, constant line only on the top most points of the runners--that way there won't be any waves/grooves/wrinkles in the Triangle.
You can paint the center your color of choice, and keep the perimeters (which are only painted on the tops of the runners, not in-between the cracks) a different color.

I hope I did a decent job of painting a picture...

i was thinking about the silver parts in your picture red and the rest glossy black. that would be more difficult but it might look funny unless your at the one certain angle to it. my idea might just look like red lines from far away. hmmm i will get 2 vinyls to try it out on them and post it up when i get it started

what about takeing a light sheet of metal of some sort and fabricateing a cover really shouldnt be to hard just cut it to side and bend it to match the curve then you will have a flat surface to work with
