I personally would get amber bulbs like I'd get red for the stop lights and cool whit for the reverse and tag light but that's just me.

As far as I remember, there were clear bulbs in my stock turn signals. I remember I had to buy amber bulbs for my clear corners.

Yeah they were "clear" or better yet that off white like what the gauges were before you changed em to blue. I put amber bulbs in mine when I first got my clear corners cause of some of the police arround here. Then I swapped to the amber ones all the way around yesterday and havent thought about changing back to any other color. I have put the amber bulbs in my fiancee's car and look a hell of a lot better than just putting the "clear" ones back in. So I would only think that amber LED's in factory housings would look alot better than just factory "clear" bulbs.

The clear bulbs were just because of the orange lens. But a filament bulb tends to be on the yellow-ish side already. If you put a white LED behind the amber lens, you'll get some yellow look but it would be muted compared to putting a proper amber LED behind it.

Similar effect with a stock 194 bulb, if you put an amber one behind it it makes the color a little richer looking.

SparkyJJO couldn't have said it better, they give it a more richer look but not overly bright.
