I was wondering if this can be done.

I want to have 1st gen's dash recovered in good quality leather with after market gauges.

Has anyone tried this ?

 

would be pretty cool, but its def not gonna be a bolt in... anything can be done with enough money and time

 

Going to be a bit tough to do since the engine in a 4th gen sits 1/2 under the cowl the dash is extreamly huge to accomidate that. The 1st gens weren't designed like that so You'll have to do a lot of fabrication to make up the extra space.

altho, i think it will be very difficult

 

i like a 4th gen dash in a 1st gen but it definatly could be done, the dash itself where the gauges go is metal, you would have to make your own dash top tho and make it wider or narrower
