Question Black and red interior?

Alright, so recently I was going through pics of the black and red interiors. Such as those found in the '03-'04 Cobras. I was thinking about trying it out on my car, and I was wondering how it would look like. Does any one have any pics?

Today I got my old broken window switch panel and painted it red. Tomorrow I'll probably wetsand it and give it some clearcoat. But it doesn't look too bad. I was thinking about buying the plastic parts that go behind the door handle too, to paint them red. Then I could buy some black with red seat covers, and some red gauge overlays from 6LE.com. I think it might work nice on my car, since it is bright red with black rims.

Also, should I paint the switches black or red to match, or should I leave them the factory graphite color?

Here are some pics of the window switch panel (tomorrow I'll put it in my car to see what it looks like), and some red and black Cobra interiors.

"That's a negatory buddy." lol.

At what? Having any pics of a black and red interior?

I'm going to get some spare parts to do it to. And these window switch panels are the ones that I took off and replaced due to one being broke. Also, the seat covers are removable too. So, I figure it's at least worth a shot. If it doesn't work out, I'll be out like $60 bucks, but at least I'll know how it looks. And my interior isn't in reat shape anyways. Passenger seat leather is ripped. Oh well. I'll post some pics up for future reference once I do get it all together. Incase anyone else considers trying it later on.

Also, probably get a leather shift **** with a red Trans Am logo on it, and some red guage overlays too.

Here's a Corvette pics, for all you, "Ew, Ford is gay and therefore anything they do is gay" people:

Id say only do the seats, leave other interior pieces alone.

^ What he said but I would personally do the Houndstooth inserts on the seats instead of just straight up red.

Cool

Ask and you shall recieve

Could only find one for now. I'll get more up later. The seats have SS stitched into the headrests as well.

You could also look for the stock Trans Am red and black interior pieces, and do that, since you're replacing your interior anyway.

I did a photoshop a while back when I found a guy who did a red/graphite seat setup. I photoshopped the door panel, the glove box door, and the front bottom dash to see how they would look in red as well.

Personally I like the idea of just doing some plastics in red like the door handle and window switch bezels.

Heres another possible avenue, thats pretty different from the norm . Its a ps I did for someone a while ago who wanted a red/black interior themed off the C6's where just the boltsters are red instead of the inserts .

Here is it in the vette

Heres the ps

Heres another one in a TA . The red is alittle darker in this one but thats how the guy wanted it .

Exactly. Ive always wanted to do something like that because I have always liked the way the 10 ann. cobras interior look. And if you prep it right it will look fine. Every plastic piece in my car has been rattle can and unless you are looking at an ebony piece right next to it you would never know it was ever light gray and didnt come that way.

Where could I get stock Trans Am pieces in red? I've never seen any.

That's because it's a rare option that was only found in very few 95-96 birds. If you keep an eye out, you can come across them. eBay and the for sale sections here have them pop up once in a blue moon. It'd probably be quicker to just have an upholstery shop redo the seats you already own though.

black/red is the MOST COMMON custom job color combo. I live in Suffolk County New York and I knew three guys with black camaro's that did the black and red theme in the cockpit. Its a nice touch. Depending on you NOT going overboard. If you do it TASTEFULLY and not red everything known to mankind in the cockpit, you will be OK.

But WHO CARES what WE think? Its all up to YOU and how YOU feel about your car.

P.S. the Cobra's did it PERFECTLY with the red/black setup

That's as far as I'd personally go though. I had a friend with an LT1 that painted the bottom part of the dash and it never looked stock...

Here's mine...not too much red, but a nice contrast.
