Ok how do you remove the ac vents in the trans am dash? we see the little clips but we cant figure out how to get them out and dont wanna break the vents
It's tricky. But if you've seen the two little clips in the ring, you are nearly there.
Basically, those clips (two of them, straight across from each other), have to BOTH be pulled in toward the center of the vent.
It's easy to pry one up with a long screw driver, but you can't pull the vent out unless you pry BOTH up at the same time.
Using two screwdrivers, keep working it until you get BOTH clips pulled up at the same time.
When you do that, the vent will pull straight out at you. If you have someone there to pull the thing out when you get both clips pryed up, that makes it easier.
I did mine alone (and didn't damage anything), so it is possible...

ok did you put the screwdrives in the little slot on the clip? or like under the clip? also did you slide the screwdriver between the vent and the dash or did you put the screwdriver in the vent to pop up the clips? also could some one post a pic of the vent outta the dash so i can get some better ideas
Just use 2 very small standard screwdrivers, or better yet, 2 picks. Go thru the vent, not around it and pry up on the front part of the clips just enough to release them. If you turn your heater on for 5 minutes first it will make these clips hot and flexible and much less likely to snap off.Once you get your picks underneath these clips the vent will slide right out .
Simple fix: warm up vent by running the heater for a few minutes just until the tabs are more flexible. Then bend a couple of paper clips into a hook of sorts.and get one at a time under each tab. then use pliers to grab both at the same time and gently pull the whole vent out
