There's been a few people I've seen wrap theirs with vinyl, but you went over the top. That looks really good with the dark vent.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Glue should be fine. Top foam and vinyl is done with 3M General Trim adhesive. Edge wrap and vent area done with DAP Landau top contact cement. The vent is glued in with hot glue, which also helps keep the under side down.

Really any decent adhesive should work since you're not stretching it by any means. Your usual failures occur when the material is stretched and wants to return back to normal or gravity. I used regular DAP contact cement on the first stuff I did. It worked until the first car show with the top down and then failed where it was stretched around the a-pillars and molded to the back of the headrests.

Not wanting to do it three times, I wrapped a spare head rest back using the landau top contact cement and left it outside all summer. No failures. Still need to redo my other stuff, but I want to get the rest of the interior finished before I start fixing things.

For those that haven't seen my personal car, here's the build log:

Probably about as much as a new one costs, plus I would only want to do this again on a new one... So double what a new one costs..

Speaking of dash pads, I just bought a carpet style one that is in the exact shape of my old cracked dash, and I'm just going to put a grille on the opening for the defogger and replace my old dash completely with it.
