New idea for EmblemPros ....
I was thinking of a subtle, but noticeable piece for our cars . A customized
plate to cover up the VIN number. I'm just talking about a plate that you
can slide between the window and VIN tag, thats etched, or even maybe has
a cool insert like the ZR1 emblems, along with the etching. How feasible
is this and pricing? Thanks!

because I don't see the vast majority of ppl digging the idea of having their vin numbers covered when cops CLEARLY ticket ppl if they do so. ....even if it was just a device that slides over the vin for meet and greet car shows....cops who walk past ur car can ticket u for that. hence why IMO this should be a one off piece for you.

I don't think a cop would ticket you for covering it up at a car show...
Whenever I go I usually stick the paper on the dash and slide it down so it covers up the VIN. There are a lot of ppl that do that so I don't see what the difference makes whether it's a plate or a piece of paper as long as both are removable.

Technicaly you can be ticketed for most anything, courts decide what goes or not. To save the hassel though, yeah prob shouldnt.. You'd think law enforcement would be so busy doing more productive things that this little stuff shouldnt matter.

I'd buy it if they made it.

The only purpose of the displayed VIN serves those goddamn meter maids.
They carry wireless handheld devices that's connected to the DMV database, so when they scan the vin it pulls all the info about the car and the ticket is printed to be stuck on the car.
Its designed to cut down on errors that those wana-be cops make because any error on the ticket used to get it thrown out in the old days.
Sorry for OP

I think its a cool idea. I'd cover mine. im in the industry, and i know how fucked you can be if someone gets that number. people dont realize it, but there are alot of crooks embedded in gm dealerships that acquire key codes for their cohorts to steal these vehicles.
