^^ Idk if the general public would really care though, its like you said in your post. GM whored out the SS name and slapped on just about everything, it just kind of ruined the whole having an "SS" now.

yep i have and i love it . . . and it was only a V6 so i can't imagine how much more fun i would've had in a SS! my gf and i rented the V6 last july for a drive up to redding and back, we loved everything about the car except the damn blind spot of the pillars other than that the handling, acceleration, deceleration, everything felt good. i'm lookin forward to the new ZL1!

course this is interesting
"The cars began as 396-cid/375-bhp Super Sports with the F4l suspension. Engine and SS trim were deleted, and the cars were equipped essentially as other 427 COPO Camaros, with cowl-induction hood, front disc brakes, a choice of heavy-duty four-speeds or Turbo Hydra-matic, and a 4:10.1 Posi in the strongest axle Chevy could muster. But instead of the iron-block and head L72 427, these Camaros got a 427 called the ZL1."
so really they started as a SS camaro lol

Don't bother buying those lottery tickets, I already bought the winning ticket.

There isn't a single thing I do not like about the ZL1 or would change if I buy one, well maybe a pulley swap I mean wow they improved so much over a the SS in every way, power, drivetrain, suspension, appearance, you name it! I just love it GM went all out with the ZL1 and just the fact that they didn't make a z28 proves it's in the works and will be what we expect or better! In a way they bought more time to create the perfect return of the z28. IMO that's a good thing

I'm just glad this Camaro wasn't a let down and the Camaro lineup is getting some serious attention/improvements!

I DO want to see however, what a new Camaro based off the 4th gens would look like

the only thing i'd change is i'd want a LS7 in there instead of a LSA (unless the LSA is forged)

The LSA crank is forged but not the pistons.

Most people use forged pistons since they are stronger, not so much that they withstand heat better.

so would the crank being the only forged item be a big concern especially if someone wants to run higher than stock boost?

Sure it would, since the LSA doesn't have forged pistons they aren't as strong, so they have to be careful when raising the boost level.
