What was the part number for the radiator you used from Summit? Do you remember? or how much it was?

Its been a while since i updated this thread, but I've slowly been pulling the car apart since doing the other work, anyways... Not much has happened because i can't find anyone willing to come weld my engine bay for me. :/ I figured out my fan setup and actually got it at Auto zone where i work. it's a 14" "torqflow" universal 12v pusher/puller fan. fits perfect, and looks clean and simple too.

here's some pictures of that mocked up.

I'll be creating a build thread here pretty soon for my lq4/9 370 build as i've recently ordered my fully forged rotating assembly, and dropped my block off at the machine shop for bore/hone. Stay on the lookout guys!

You pretty much are doing the exact same thing as me, just in a different order lol. I took all my wiring out (and cut all the wires i didnt need like ac and abs) and filled in all the wholes and painted my engine bay. I'm in the process of doing the vertical radiator right now, even though I already painted , and it should look good. I was kind of leary about cutting the fenders though it seems like there would be too much rigidity taken out of the front end. I'm just going to wrap my wiring in that cold-shrink stuff and hide them the best I can. Definately subscribing.

I haven't forgotten about this. It's still in the works. Nothing has really happend on it lately though. I've been busy building my forged 370 to go in that bay.

Have you decided how you are going to support/stabilize the radiator?

scj,
You killed it with this one! Great thinking, cleanest version of this mod I've seen. And I know I'm bumping a very old thread, but I'm gonna do this mod. What is your conclusion about the fan you used, does it get the job done? Did you ever finish with welding the cut portions?

No problem that thread is worth going through. I only wish when I did mine I paid half as much attention to detail.

Your engine bay is a wonder that needs to be seen

Default Radiator mount

How do you remove the radiator if needed. I can’t see in pics how it’s mounted.looks as if the top support is one piece like factory. Looks very nice!

rad is held in with two tabs on the both sides of the radiator end tanks which have two bolts and grommets that attach to two identical brackets coming off the sides of the radiator support in the car. Unbolt the two bolts and remove radiator cap and it comes out by pulling it down enough to clear the top of the support then up and out.
