Some guys do it for a security thing too. Those can come with locks n keys. Saves from people cutting power

Looks great Alchemist. I never thought your hood pins looked bad, but those new ones are pretty sweet. I like the latch system too, good find!

Those latches are awesome. I guess the only downside is you have to cut a pretty good size hole in the hood. Car looks great.

Looks great man, nice work on the whole thing. The stripes really set it off and those style of hoodpins are slick.

It might just be me, but I don't like the front of the nostrils painted like that? Maybe it would look better if the bumper buckets were painted to match?

IDK it looks great though, just not sure how I feel about the front of them painted.

I agree with you about them being painted. Fireball was the one who painted them black, and they've grown on me over time, and now having the blackbird stripes on there kind of ties it all together.

I may end up repainting them a satin black to better match the stripes.

Great work! I'm not a fan of hood pins for a car that is 99% street driven. But those look really good.

Again, let me clarify that I bought this hood from Fireball who was running in the 170mph range in the qaurter, and he found that the front edges started to lift at that speed, so he installed hood pins as a safety measure.

I did get the locking ones as well, so it is an additional safety feature, although I don't lock my car typically.

And yes, it's not your average WS9 hood, it's a little bit different, but not crazy and I've yet to figure out the corvette rims on f-body fad either, but to each his own.

You can kind of see them in this pic:

They are where the bumpstops used to be. Simply unscrew those bumpstops, then install the pins in the same location.

Here's a brighter pic from the side. You can see them by the battery and then straight across looking at the window.

Stripes are great. No complaints at all and the price was great as well.
