The lights are on my car. Like Swiat said the hood was bowed like a pringles potato chip when I got it but it is relaxing back out pretty good. As you can see from the pics there are some gap issues. When the hood gets where I want it, it will be sprayed. Then I think the lights will look better. I think the black hood is throwing off the whole car. When we get it all done we will post new pics and see if any minds are changed. lol

No sense in wasting paint if the hood has to get tossed out. So that'll wait a little while...I do agree that it's just unbalancing the car. I've always LOVED black Whistler modded headlights but I like to lean towards originality. I know that's a bit frowned upon around here sometimes but this is just a new twist on an old trick. Thanks for all the compliments and input guys!

The couple of cars I've seen with body colored headlights like this have the same problem. The body color clashes with the silver reflective part. Might just be me, but I think a simple black pinstripe between the silver and red would help tremendously.

Definetly different, but its hard to beat the traditional black whistler mod.

I wonder what it'd look like with the reflector area shot in black chrome or some black tinted clear....

It would look dimmer when it was illuminated.

What kind of paint would you recommend to do the black in the reflective part?

We could use a tinted clear. I don't think it'd help the looks on your car tho since you have clear corner lights. If you had tinted corner lights then the tinted headlights would go along.

Now that i see day time pics, if the hood was painted and the headlight lenses where crystal clear, it might look alright.

Those lenses have been wet sanded and polished out already. There as clear as they're gonna get! Considering they were yellow and felt like sandpaper, they look excellent now!

We bought the paint for the hood today but will probably wait a few weeks for the weather to warm up (save heating cost in my shop) and for his turn in the club for a project. (We're numbered and projects go in order IF the member has the parts/supplies and is present.) Hood will have black cowl and the rest red. Also there's an SLP grill on order for the Bloodshot Catfish!

In person the weather strips disappear in shadow. See the Thread I started in Pain and Bodywork where I have paint on that hood now. Just no installed pics since I JUsT finished it an hour ago! You guys will see this so much better when we get that hood on. As it stands it doesn't look like I visioned but I "see" the red hood in my vision of this car.
