More filter kits. I've seen both blue and red oil available. Yhere might be green as well. These are from 5 years ago, back when I was gonna make my own "volant" style setup.

You can still find them on ebay for $50 with off brand gauze filters. Authentic K&N filter increase the price some. The filter size they use in these kits is RU-3130 4.6 x 3.5 x 7 $33.61 from Summit.

Thanks, those look pretty cool, I think I still may continue making my own, since I'm already this far along now but those are clean looking. Definitely gives me some new ideas... I was looking for black filters & gray was the closest I could find locally though.

My idea was to cut the Y pipe to make this shape. I've since moved on so I don't care if someone uses my idea.

I'm sure you could add some black dye to the oil. Only problem is - how do you know when it's dirty?

Great design, look efficiant as hell.
Water should be no problem.
and the people who say WATCH OUT! any water and by by engine.
DO PEOPLE HAVE any idea how much it takes to HyDROlock an engine.

especially one that is already running thousands of Rpms.
funny to me how people just get so freaked so easy.
lol i clean my engine out with purified water every month.
(if you want to know how message me)

I have a ram air setup and thats pretty good. but i wonder if this setup is better.

If you looked closer at the pics, you'd see that the air being redirected by the air dam is now blocked by that giant sheet of metal...
You're looking at the condensor there buddy, if you peek under any fbody, you'll see an air dam that will direct air straight up between the radiator and condenser. Sooo, maybe look closer at your car....

If that's the way your car is, something is wrong. Obviously all incoming air is meant to go through the condensor, then the radiator.

For best efficiency of the fans cooling the condenser, likesld when parked and running the AC, the radiator and condenser should be sealed together around their edges. There should be foam between the two on the left and right sides and a plastic piece across the top. I don't remember what's along the bottom.

Well to me the bend going into the TB is too sharp, you want the air to flow in smoother IMO.

Looks like nice work though.

no you are incorrect
there is a air dam the deflects air into the condenser and radiator but this intake setup completely blocks it off

Since you plan to cut out the center of your bumper I don't see much of a problem with overheating since it will be a straight shot through. It take less air to keep it cool than people think. At worst if it does get hot you just need a 3-5 in gap between your bottom sheild you made and the lower coresupport with a small lip that folds up toward the radiator, the fans should do the rest of the work.

I like the looks of it, although what everyone is saying about the water is true the other set ups at least require the water to travel upwards before coming in contact with the filter however this set up looks like water could directly contact the filter(s). I wouldnt do it i was sceptical enough of a cai but if it was a weekend car i think this is a sweet idea and (like always) legit like other mcnord's stuff

Thanks guys, Not concerned about water at all-
1. Its an AZ car (we see little rain)
2. Its a weekend / track car. If its going to rain I'll just take my truck.

Thats exactly what I was thinking & it would roll up right behind the filters & still be a clean setup.
