Default Front Breather setup

Been debating on this for a while & figured I would go ahead & give it a shot, Just like most of my mods some of you will love it & others will hate it lol. Still needs some work, these are only progress pics & the actual intake tubes are only temporary, they will serve as a plug for a molded fiberglass version that will be much cleaner & not taped together. I also wouln't be cutting the bumper open, I will just be bringing in air from the front on the sides of the grill.

Let me know what you think!

PLEASE tell me 6LE will be making these. This would be perfect with my DH bumper.

Oh, and by the way, you should DEFINiTELY cut the front and inset it like the Sunoco car.

The only thing I worry about is getting caught in the rain with that. Imagine a large puddle gets splashed across your front bumper while driving. Game over engine.

Other than that I think it looks awesome. Fair weather only set up FTW.

overheating problems? you have pretty much blocked off all airflow to the radiator

There is an air dam that hangs down on all f-bodies...it's job is to direct air flow up into the radiator. It will be fine.

I live in AZ for one & also the car is only a toy, so it shouldn't be a problem.

No, there is still plenty of airflow, the pics may be decieving but a lot of air can actually get by the filters all the way around & get to the radiator.

At some point you know your cars will cease to be a Chevrolet LOL! I like it, not my cup of tea, but a great idea for track and toy cars for sure.

Interesting idea... Still not sure if enough air will be getting through to the radiator without cutting the center support out of the bumper. One thing's for sure: your cars low-speed front impact rating just went down a few points! Can you say "ABS coating on the cylinder walls"?

If you looked closer at the pics, you'd see that the air being redirected by the air dam is now blocked by that giant sheet of metal...

Interesting... Kind of like the FMIC guys do for FI, but you have air filters there.

it's funny how people are always so worried about sucking up enough water to destroy the motor...

i daily drive my car with the filter a couple of inches off the ground completely exposed. i live in AZ like McNord, but i've driven it in some pretty intense rain, car runs better than ever with a little water injection

btw, looks sick! can't wait to see what it looks like with the bumper on! good job man
