Saw this in person tonight. Silver piping along the wheel & seats. Looked stellar.

Find a way to make this work

I would definitely be in for the partsbin one. Does anyone know if the steering wheel controls will work with the fbody stereo?

thats what i was thinking. hopefully worst case scenario we buy one of those infrared harnesses that go to the controls and stereo head unit.

Ive thought about the vette wheels, but I have a long list of stuff to do before then though. But interested when the time comes. I dont have airbags hooked up or stereo buttons, just needs to steer the car and look good!

Its the wheel used in a the Cobalt, Malibu, Corvette, G6, G5, solstice/sky etc etc. Hence the "parts bin" wheel.

What do those parts bin wheels go for? If its just a bolt on for me (since i dont need to hook up airbags or radio stuff) and its not bad priced, I would swap for my stock wheel. I like the stock look. I had a Grant and just looked too aftermarket.

If they make one of those wheels without any type of controls on them I would love to have one.

I'm not the biggest fan of the wheel in my 99 TA.
My 98camaro wheel with no radio buttons was nicer looking to me but it's all coming apart.

I'd love to help somehow figure the airbag thing out because id love to get that pontiacwheel in my TA and make the radio controls work, it's sleek looking.

yeah i'd like one of those wheel's w/o the controls. unless u can get the basic audio controls like the f-bodies have. but i think it would b easier w/o the controls.

Odd.. The G6 wheels has more hand "bumps" than the Vette wheel. I'm looking for the 06+ style wheel. Type-ish thing......for to make .... car go ... directions.. otherz than straite.

I'll be all over one of these if they allow the radio controls and airbag to work. My stock wheel looks like *** compared to the rest of the interior.

Grant used to make a restyling ring for '93-'00 Camaros and '01-'02 without radio controls. It was held on with 3M adhesive. There's a bit more info and pics on my website in the unusual products section.

I think a "piano black" one would be great in a Camaro.

6LE could probably make something similar to the old Grant restyling ring since they are so good at molding.

Using the stock airbag would remove all issues with compatibility

The leather around the G6 ring looks very cheap, almost as if it was sewn by an amateur. That was my first impression when I test drove a 2009.5 G6 coupe.

If you want a really great wheel, I absolutely love the one in my Grand Prix GXP. I'm not sure if it's the same as the one in the regular GP model, but you could do some research and find out. I think the regular GP doesn't have perforated leather like the GXPs do.

Here's one on ebay from a regular GP

and another

The G6 wheel WILL NOT interchange. Not directly at least. The shaft is a different spline count. If I remember right, you can get the shaft out of a early 00's Grand Prix and swap them out, which will allow you to use the new wheel. I could be slightly off. Been a while since I read it, but there was a thread on here a while back on exactly how to do it.

I had one of the grant rings on my mustang it was nice but only covers half the wheel, its like a plate that just sticks on,was nice though looked a lot better driving it,but didn't have a good feel,I honest would love to keep an airbag, but I think its gonna go,I hate the stock wheel with a passion,I think I'm gonna go with this one untill someone can make the c6 work without a hitch

I would definitely love to have my steering wheel re-wrapped and have the thumb-inserts more pronounced. The T/A wheels are way to thin and feel like a school bus wheel.

I really like what Grant did with that 2010 camaro wheel. I'm going to email them and see if we can start a campaign to get them to do the same for our 98-02 cars. Who knows, maybe we'll get lucky.
