Just looked at it.. put those next to a stock or 4k bulb, they will appear extremely blue.

Umm... Just flip the switch one notch so that the fogs come on and the headlights stay down...

He may be having electrical issues. On my 98 now, when I flip on the parking lights/fogs, my head lights pop up (turned off).

Awesome, looks like Hawk used my writeup and started selling kits, cause I don't remember that existing when I wrote it.. who knows.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...-trans-am.html

"All kits come with 10,000k which is a blueish/white color"

Not even close, 10,000K is a DEEP blue, which is quite obnoxious. 6000K is a "blueish white" color.

As for the housings, Euro Light housings produce a LOT of glare. The LMC Truck housings are worlds better. In my WS6 I had EuroLights, and I'd get flashed often. On my '99, I had LMC Truck's, and I never got flashed.

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cd/full.aspx?Page=63

Right below the picture on the right, OUTER: Part number: 36-0302

During checkout they ask you to put what car you're putting these in. To avoid any order problems I put an '89 Blazer.. same size headlight housing
LMC Housings take 9006 bulbs.

As has been said already, the LMC housings are going to be much higher quality than the Eurolights. However, it just flat out isn't worth it to put HIDs into reflector housings. HID "replacement" bulbs are not the same size or shape as standard halogens, nor do they output light in the same manner. For this reason, the geometry of the reflectors doesn't jive with the HIDs (that's just my optical engineering showing through). You WILL get poorly directed light, and you WILL get glare.

On the other hard, if you want to put HIDs in your fogs, I have no qualms against that. Though the same arguments still hold true, due to the nature and purpose of the fog lights, it just isn't as big of a concern. The light is directed lower and more spread out than lowbeams anyway. I currently run 35W 6000K in my fogs, and the light output is enough for me to drive at night while my headlights are out of commission (I'm in the process of a totally off-the-wall projector retrofit - keep an eye out for updates on that) and I have NEVER been flashed when doing so.

So, take it for what it's worth: type 880 bulbs for the fogs, and for the lows, spend the extra money and get some projectors. You can get the direct replacements from BLS, or diy with a set of projectors from retrofitsource.

LMC Truck Housings w/ 6000k 35W 9006 HID in the low beams and fogs. The cutoff is good and noticeable. It's not going to be good as a projector housing but if you take the time and aim them correctly you won't be blinding anyone.
