FRCs w/ SLP STB?
I'm thinking about getting a set of FRCs for the Hawk for the car show season. Question though...Seems like I've read somewhere that FRCs wouldnt fit if you have an SLP STB. Is this true or did I dream that somewhere along the way? Does anyone on here have FRCs and the SLP STB? If so, got any pics?
Obviously, I don't want to pay the $$$ for a nice set of FRCs if they arent going to fit...and I really don't want to remove the STB!

I would also ditch that SLP STB if this were true. STB's are frequently up for sale in the classifieds. If you want some FRC's do not let that STB hold you back.

It is true, the SLP STB sits too low for the FRC's to fit and have room, they will end up scratching them in the long run, and in my case, I've spent 4 times as much on my custom covers than the STB, so I sold mine and got the Hotchkis, no clearance problems with that one, or the BMR for that matter, I just thoght that the Hotchkis looked better....

Re: FRCs w/ SLP STB?
I had the SLP brace, and it did touch the FRC's (driver's side a bit more than the passenger side)... but it isn't noticeable unless you take off the tower brace. I had to put the frc's on first, but not a problem. I liked the way it looked. Pics in my sig.

It's not that they won't fit. They will. (If you obviously remove the brace to install the covers, then replace the brace.) But they will be very close to rubbing on the underside of the SLP STB. Other brands, such as the BMR, are taller & give more clearance.
Put'em on & rev the engine a few times. If you've got good motor mounts, you might be okay.
