C5 Build Thread (F.I. Inside)
Posting up some pictures for my boy regorih383 on the board. This is his C5 that we(regorih, 5w20, and I with special guest appearances by Firehawk#07 lol) are working on at his house in this 100 degree TX weather. I'll be taking pictures of what is going every time I'm over there to keep the thread updated.
He is doing this on a college student budget and his been saving all his pennies to get this going. Originally his plan was to buy a lift to make things easier but he was running out of time so it is getting done the old fashioned way. His plans are to have it done by late August which is when his summer break is over.
Here are the mods.
Engine:
347 LS1 5.7 with forged pistons,rods, and stock crank
TrickFlow 225 cathedral heads
LG G5x3 LSA 114
LS9 head gasket
ARP head studs
8 rib balancer
LS2 intake
90mm C5 TB
OEM LS2 chain
OEM LS6 oil pump
OEM LS7 lifters
Harden push rods
Stock roller rockers
Fuel:
RSI twin hanger with two 255 walbros
Speed inc high flow fuel rails
80lb. injectors
Fuel lab regulator
Blower stuff:
Procharger D1SC with Richard Racing 3.5’’ 8-rib pulley
Big front mount intercooler
Procharger big red blow of valve
A&A New bracket
Dallas Performance DD
Cobalt 2bar map
Here is a older picture we took of the car.
This was day one or so. Bumper and hood off.
Some Jesus to look over us.
What car lift?
Everything unbolted and on the floor.
Motor and front suspension out from under the car.
A little engine shot. Roger was putting the heads on.
Roger didn't really want to bother with doing anything under the hood appearance wise but I talked him into it. I have been powder coating everything that he would let me coat. I want to do a few other things as well.
A&A bracket
Valve covers and procharger housing getting ready.
Some parts after being coated.
Car as it sits right now. Going to degrease the engine bay and I plan on relooming all the harnesses with black braided loom.

the engine is fully assembled, procharger and bracket are installed on the engine, and fuel system has been started. He was waiting on some parts that didn't show up when the initial orders had been made.
